A Ministry of Compassion and Wholeness...

People who are suffering need both.  They need our compassion to put an immediate end to their suffering.  They need to achieve wholeness so they no longer need the help we provide.  Forward Steps recognizes the importance of both compassion and wholeness.  We work to end suffering.  We work to equip people for life.  We work to affect changes in society.  And in the process, we change lives. 

We need your support to be successful in these efforts.  We need your pledge.  We need your time, energy and wisdom.  By itself, your $25 each month may not make much of a difference, but your $25 added together with donations from other people of conscience has an impact.  It means more food for the hungry, more medicine for people suffering under the extreme costs of health care,  more programming for children and adults.  It means changing lives for the better.

Our Vision

We have a vision:  to grow in ministry to our community.  We want to expand the breadth of our current programs and increase the number of programs we offer as well.

In order to realize that vision, we must increase the number of volunteers who donate their time to Forward Steps.  We welcome volunteers and donations at any level.  Anything you can give helps us toward our goal of improving lives.  We encourage you to become a supporter of compassion and wholeness by participating in our giving program.

If you want to be involved in inner-city ministry with people of low-income, we have volunteer opportunities for you, your colleagues, .  Whatever your interests, we can find a time and a way to put your skills to work in ministry. 

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

In the inner city, if you can't touch it, you can't use it; if it doesn't help you survive ? then it isn't real. Don't talk about "hope" unless you can demonstrate it.

That's why Forward Steps partners with inner-city churches that are committed to ministering to the whole person ? body, mind, and spirit. At the heart of these partnerships is a proven 3-phase strategy called the "Circle of Hope."

Connecting: We provide  help  ministries connect with those in need. The outreaches which connect us to the poor include giving clothing and blankets to the homeless, getting new shoes so needy children can go back to school, providing holiday meals for individual families, and much more.

Empowering: We offer training in life and social skills, educational and employment assistance, and other resources to help minister to men, women, and children in need.

Developing: Our developmental programs help equip inner-city residents to bring deep and lasting transformation to their neighborhoods.
